Thanks to the dedicated efforts of EDA, the Governo dos Açores, and other IANOS partners, the island is now equipped with advanced energy solutions—including 39 PV systems, 16 electrochemical batteries, 24 heat batteries, and more. Final integration with Cleanwatts’ KISENSE platform is underway, setting the stage for a fully operational intelligent virtual powerplant. As we move into the monitoring and analysis phase, we look forward to measuring the impact of these technologies on island decarbonisation and sustainable energy transition.
