The final event of the IANOS H2020 project took place on October 8–9, 2025, in Terceira, Azores. The two-day gathering brought together project partners, experts, and stakeholders to discuss key topics in the energy transition, including self-consumption and community empowerment, grid stability and flexibility, and sector coupling for infrastructure decarbonisation.
During the event, our Innovation Director, Andreia Carreiro, joined international partners to present the work developed throughout the project, together with leading European organisations, EDP, CERTH, UNINOVA, Efacec, Teraloop Oy, TNO, and AeC, focusing on accelerating island energy decarbonisation and digitalisation through real-world demonstrations.
The event concluded with discussions on scalability, lessons learned, next steps, and a pilot visit to local geothermal and battery energy storage systems. It offered an important moment to reflect on the achievements of the project and the progress made toward more sustainable island energy systems.
